Can the punk camp stay on Sylt – or does it have to give way shortly after construction? A new court dispute decides on the limits of the right of assembly and the controversial protest on Germany's most famous luxury island.
Since 2022, punks have been arriving on the holiday island of Sylt once a year. The responsible county of North Frisia wants to prevent the "Aktion Sylt" this summer. In court, however, the punks are in the advantage at the moment.
The punks celebrate court victory – protest camp is allowed to start on the island as planned despite the banning attempt of the district of North Friesland. At least eight demos are planned.
Construction of the protest camp in Tinnum may begin on Sunday. However, the legal conflict had to go over several rounds.
