As of Thursday, there is a pumping ban in the Blankaart basin around Diksmuide and in the Rivierbeek basin near Oostkamp. Farmers are therefore no longer allowed to pump water from the streams. The ban applies only to non-navigable watercourses. This is necessary because water levels in those watercourses are too low. The situation is being monitored weekly, says Governor Decaluwé.
