East Belfast: Two Men Arrested in Scotland Following Nicholas Gordon Death
Nicholas Gordon, 51, died after a serious assault, and detectives say two suspects arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary were released on bail.
Nicholas Gordon, 51, died in hospital on Saturday following a serious assault at an apartment building on Holywood Road in East Belfast on Tuesday, May 12, prompting a Police Service of Northern Ireland murder investigation.
A 24-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were previously arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm but were later released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police Scotland officers arrested two men, aged 25 and 31, in Scotland on Monday on suspicion of murder, with the PSNI arranging their return to Northern Ireland for questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Duffie released a reporting portal on Sunday for the public to share CCTV or dashcam footage, urging witnesses of suspicious activity on Holywood Road between 4 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on May 12 to contact police.
