The mayor of Vizela and the District Federation of Braga of the PS, Victor Hugo Salgado, is under investigation for suspected domestic violence. The mayor denies that he assaulted the woman and says that the accusations are an “attempt to exploit private life for political purposes”.
This Monday, the leader of the PS asked the president of the PS/Braga federation to resign from office and informed him that he will not support him in re-running for the Vizela Chamber, after news of alleged assaults by Victor Hugo Salgado against his wife.
