- The Ministry of Infrastructure budgeted $5 million for renovating existing school spaces, while the Ministry of Education and Child Care allocated $22 million for operating costs and staff training over three years.
- Nanaimo will receive 500 of the new spots, while Vernon-Lumby MLA Harwinder Sandhu announced that four schools in The Vernon School District will gain over 70 licensed spaces.
- Families could see monthly child-care costs drop by up to $320 through the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative, Penticton-Summerland MLA Amelia Boultbee noted in a statement.
- Starting this fall, school districts can apply for a $2.9 million fund to establish board-operated programs over two years, continuing efforts under the School Amendment Act.
