'Prolific and depraved' child rapist who sold abuse images jailed
Ehiemere, jailed for 18 years, abused seven boys aged 12-16 and traded 1,600 indecent images, driven by a commercial interest in child sexual abuse, prosecutors said.
- Yesterday, Barthimaus Ehiemere, 25, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court after pleading guilty and being convicted of multiple child sex offences involving seven victims.
- Prosecutors said Ehiemere monetised abuse by offering money, gifts and praise to boys groomed via Snapchat and Spotafriend using the false identity 'trombonist with a camel business'.
- Forensic analysis found extensive indecent material on four phones and devices, including footage of abuse in a Surrey woodland, a park, and a cinema toilet involving a 12-year-old victim.
- Judge Timothy Greene told Ehiemere `You are a serious danger to young boys with whom you come into contact.` The court imposed a four-year licence period and an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, with victims describing long-term psychological harm and nightmares.
- The Metropolitan Police said seven victims are identified but many more may exist, urging people to contact Operation Teigar via 101 and use NSPCC helpline 0808 800 5000 for support.
