Pro-Iran hackers have disrupted some industrial-control systems, US says
- On Tuesday, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency , FBI, NSA, and Energy Department warned that Iran-backed hackers are actively targeting industrial control systems across U.S. critical infrastructure sectors.
- Hackers are compromising internet-facing tools made by Milwaukee-based Rockwell Automation, which has led to "disruptions across several U.S. critical infrastructure sectors," the advisory says.
- The latest disruptions include "maliciously interacting with project files, and manipulating data displayed on HMI and SCADA displays," according to the agencies, resulting in operational disruption and financial loss.
