Privately run immigration detention center that previously held families in Texas will reopen
- CoreCivic has signed a contract to reopen the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
- The facility, with a capacity of 2,400 beds, will be used for housing families, according to CoreCivic.
- CoreCivic noted that the center was originally built for ICE in 2014 to accommodate family populations.
