Criminal Teaser: Prime Video's Brubaker-Phillips Adapt Set for January
The crime series adaptation will roll out in two four-episode parts, with Charlie Hunnam, Luke Evans and Emilia Clarke leading the cast.
- On Thursday, Prime Video unveiled the first teaser for Criminal, confirming that Part One "Coward" debuts January 13, 2027, followed by Part Two "Lawless" on January 27, 2027.
- Based on the Eisner Award-winning graphic novels by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, the series features an "interlocking universe" of crime stories exploring an interconnected underworld where consequences of one generation's mistakes fall on the next.
- Filmmakers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck direct the first four episodes, leading a cast including Charlie Hunnam, Adria Arjona, Luke Evans, and Emilia Clarke, with Brubaker co-creating the adaptation alongside crime novelist Jordan Harper.
- Part One "COWARD" follows Leo Patterson and Ricky Lawless confronting childhood secrets and a heist gone wrong, while Part Two "LAWLESS" sees Tracy Lawless return from the Army to face what it means to be a Lawless.
- The series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, positioning the sprawling crime drama as a major global release for the streaming platform.
