Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba met with visiting Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates at the Prime Minister's official residence today to exchange views on infectious disease countermeasures in developing countries such as Africa. Japan is expected to provide up to US$550 million over the next five years to the Global Vaccine Alliance (GAVI), which promotes vaccine access.
