This year's final mathematics exam results for basic schools continue to show large differences between schools. While the percentage of students failing is non-existent in schools in the city centre of Tallinn and Tartu, nearly half of students in peripheral areas and certain city districts fail the exam. Experts point to the lack of teachers, the language barrier and the changed learning culture as reasons.
