- Facing high national expectation, Eric Chelle, Super Eagles head coach, admitted Nigeria's pressure pushes him to perform and said, `When I was the coach of Mali, it was very difficult because it was my country and I had a lot of pressure.`
- Chelle signalled changes by naming unused players as options, saying Raphael Onyedika and others may play in the Uganda Cranes match and that `A lot of the players are with me`.
- With rotation likely, Eric Chelle aims to preserve momentum for the knockout rounds while Uganda Cranes face a must-win match and hope Tunisia fail to win in Group C.
