Through a national chain, this Thursday, June 4, the new secretary of the Public Administration, José Julio Neira, made official the administrative reorganization with which they restructure from fourteen to ten ministries of State. As the official explained, the modification seeks to simplify the functioning of the State.
President Daniel Noboa initiated a new process of reorganisation of the state that contemplates the reduction of ministries from 14 to 10. The measure was announced on June 4, 2026 and was accompanied by the designation of Jos Julio Neira as the new head of the Secretar a de Administración Pblica, replacing Cynthia Gellibert.
This is the second time since he is president that reduces the number of ministerial portfolios, a movement that justifies his attempts to eliminate "bureaucratic barriers" and increase efficiency in the use of public resources.
The president noted that his government had in place an efficiency plan to "optimize and improve the quality of public spending."
