Prabowo Orders Immediate Completion of the IEU-CEPA to Expand Indonesia's Access to European Markets
The government is currently completing the IEU-CEPA document in English to be submitted to the European Parliament in accordance with the applicable mechanisms.
The IEU-CEPA is said to be nearing signature, but it still has to go through several stages before coming into effect. The government is targeting the implementation of the Indonesia-EU agreement in 2027.
Airlangga: The President of the European Commission will visit Indonesia to discuss the IEU-CEPA.
President Prabowo Subianto has ordered that the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) be finalized immediately.
Airlangga stated that European Commission President Ursula van der Leyen is scheduled to visit Indonesia in late October or early November 2026 to discuss the IEU-CEPA.
