The fact that Charlotte Verkeyn has lost nearly all her responsibilities on the Municipal Executive does not seem to be a coincidence. At least, that is what emerges from a number of conversations VRT NWS had with several people in or close to Ostend politics. Was she indeed sanctioned because she crossed the line too much with city staff? Or was she sacrificed on the altar of local politics because she was too much of a go-getter?
