Police arrest man for allegedly sending fentanyl from Vancouver to U.S.
Jordan Tanner Dakota Treleaven, a 32-year-old man from Vancouver, was taken into custody in Alberta on Thursday in connection with fentanyl trafficking across the U.S.-Canada border.
The investigation began in February after suspicions arose that Treleaven was importing illegal firearms to Canada and exporting fentanyl to New York.
Police executed a search warrant in Vancouver, seizing an illegal firearm and about 600 grams of fentanyl, while U.S. agents intercepted four fentanyl shipments totaling roughly 1,500 grams.
Jordan Treleaven has been charged with seven offences related to the trafficking and illegal export of fentanyl and methamphetamine, as well as possession of a prohibited firearm, highlighting a collaborative effort between Canadian and U.S. authorities to combat cross-border drug trafficking.
The case highlights ongoing cross-border drug enforcement cooperation amid broader debates over fentanyl smuggling's scale and related U.S.-Canada trade tensions.
