Polestar Reports Record Nine-Month Retail Sales and Its Strongest Third Quarter
The Swedish EV maker said the gains came as Polestar 5 deliveries began and Polestar 4 expanded its reach in the premium D-SUV segment.
On Thursday, October 8, 2026, Polestar reported retail sales of 14,371 cars in the third quarter and 44,790 cars in the first nine months of 2026, both up around 1% year-on-year.
Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller stated, "We delivered our best third quarter despite increasingly challenging market conditions," reflecting strong demand for the company's electric vehicle lineup.
Following U.S. authorities' decision on the Connected Vehicle Rule, Polestar now reports retail sales separately for the U.S. and rest-of-world markets in its financial statements.
The Polestar 4 SUV broadens the company's product portfolio and extends reach to new customer groups in the D-SUV segment, the largest and most dynamic in Europe's premium electric market.
Polestar plans to diversify manufacturing with Polestar 7 production in Europe while pursuing climate neutrality across its value chain by 2040.
Gothenburg-based electric car manufacturer Polestar reports a sales volume of 14,371 cars in the third quarter. This is an increase of 1 percent compared to the corresponding quarter last year.
