Plane Crash Sparks Huge Emergency Service Call Out as Large Cordon in Place
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has sent inspectors as emergency crews secure a large cordon and the extent of any injuries remains unclear.
On Tuesday, June 30, a light aircraft crashed into a field off Mill Lane in High Ongar, Essex, prompting emergency services to respond after Essex Police were alerted at 12:30 PM.
High Ongar is a small village situated eight miles west of Chelmsford, near the A414 connecting to Harlow, where emergency crews established a large cordon around the field.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch launched an investigation and dispatched inspectors to the crash site following notification of the accident on June 30.
DCS Morgan Cronin stated, "This is a serious incident, and we understand it will cause concern in the local community," while St. Mary's Church requested prayers for those affected.
Essex Police have not released information regarding injuries and asked residents to avoid Mill Lane while maintaining a visible presence to ensure area safety as work continues.
