Phil Taylor to Come Out of Retirement After Eight Years
Taylor will reunite with Adrian Lewis in a pairs event after eight years away from competitive darts, renewing one of the sport's most successful partnerships.
Darts great Phil Taylor will return to competitive action in Portsmouth this November, teaming up with long-time friend Adrian Lewis at the MODUS Super Series International Pairs Tournament from November 23-28.
Taylor, now 66, retired from the professional circuit in 2018, five years after winning his final world crown. He cited Lewis as one of the few people he would come out of retirement to play alongside.
The pair previously captured four World Cup of Darts titles for England between 2012 and 2016. Their reunion at MODUS comes after ten years since they last competed together.
Earlier this month, Taylor told SunSport he had been practising for an hour daily, fuelling speculation about his return. Pluto TV will broadcast the competition, which is already generating significant interest.
Beyond this tournament, Taylor is reportedly serving as a judge for the Netflix show 'Beat Luke Littler,' filmed in Manchester. His ongoing involvement keeps the darts legend active within the sport.
