Darryn Peterson Won't Work Out for Utah Jazz Ahead of NBA Draft, Report Says
ESPN reported he will work out only for the Wizards, a move that could shape the top of the draft board.
On Monday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Kansas guard Darryn Peterson will only visit the Washington Wizards, while BYU's AJ Dybantsa visited both the Wizards and the Utah Jazz ahead of the draft.
Although Peterson declined a visit, the Utah Jazz previously selected Ace Bailey with the fifth overall pick in 2025 despite him not working out for the team, establishing precedent for drafting without formal workouts.
While Peterson battled cramping issues at Kansas, ESPN's Jeremy Woo reported that his medicals have not raised major concerns with teams, clearing the way for him to be a top-two pick.
Duke forward Cameron Boozer remains a top prospect for the Utah Jazz, as his father Carlos starred for the franchise and is currently employed by the team, providing a strong familial connection.
With the draft eight days away, Utah Jazz president of basketball operations Austin Ainge must decide whether to trust available tape or prioritize prospects like Dybantsa who completed formal visits.
