After a week-long break, the government has called another extraordinary parliamentary session for Thursday and Friday, August 27 and 28. At the meeting, initiated by Prime Minister Péter Magyar, the deputies will decide, among other things, on the reduction of the VAT on firewood, EU law harmonization issues, and amendments affecting the operation of the Constitutional Court, according to a letter from Péter Magyar to the Speaker of the House.
The Prime Minister, who presented his proposal to the Speaker of the House, called the session of the National Assembly to a different date than usual. The agenda also includes further VAT reductions and certain amendments to the Basic Law.
The National Assembly is in session again.
