Peru "joins the Shield of the Americas with great determination and enthusiasm," Fujimori explained at the meeting
Peruvian President Keiko Fujimori and Colombian Vice President José Manuel Restrepo thanked President Donald Trump this Tuesday for the creation of the Shield of the Americas, a security alliance that held a meeting of leaders outside the UN General Assembly in New York.
The far-right president ratified Donald Trump's accession to the initiative and stated that Peru faces a scenario "without battle fronts or defined borders" and without "possibility of surrendering or signing peace treaties."
In parallel, Chile articulated the so-called Santiago Agreement, an effort to combat transnational organized crime.
“There is no treaty here, so that no one believes that we are going to bring sovereignty and national institutionality,” the Chilean president says.
