CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Southern Illinois University Carbondale is among 30 universities nationwide ordered by the Pentagon to review academic, financial and research relationships with certain foreign institutions. The Department of Defense ordered 30 U.S. universities to review their academic, financial and research relations with 130 foreign institutions, mostly Chinese. Harvard, MIT, and Johns Hopkins are among the study houses reached and may lose access to federal funds if they maintain agreements considered risky for national security.
