Peak Performance: Toyota Introduces the 2026 GRMN Corolla
On Monday, Toyota unveiled the 2026 GRMN Corolla, a track-focused hatchback featuring a two-seat cabin and a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine producing 300 horsepower.
Intensive Nrburgring testing and Japanese Super Taikyu racing guided development, following Master Driver Akio Toyoda's philosophy of "making better cars starting from motorsport."
Engineers added high-grip Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and retuned the powertrain to produce 302 pound-feet of torque, achieving a 40kg weight reduction by removing rear seats.
Although Toyota has not confirmed pricing, the track-ready hatch will likely cost closer to $80,000 when it arrives in select markets later this year.
The GRMN badge signifies "Gazoo Racing tuned by the Meister of Nrburgring," Toyota said, with Australian consumers expecting the limited-run vehicle in 2027.
The top-of-the-line version of the Toyota GR Corolla sports hatchback has been named the GRMN Corolla. It was also developed at the Nürburgring in Germany, but production will take place for the US, Japan and Australia.
