In Ivory Coast, former president Laurent Gbagbo – re-elected last May as head of his party, the PPA-CI – had announced his intention to delegate some of his powers. This has now been accomplished. Five figures close to the party president were appointed to positions of responsibility this Monday, August 10.
The President of the PPA-CI, Laurent Gbagbo, announced Monday, August 10, 2026, a new organization of the leadership of his party. Five senior officials were entrusted with the prerogatives previously exercised by the President. A redistribution of responsibilities which, according to Gbagbo, did not constitute a designation of his successor.
