It's Drake Maye vs. Caleb Williams as Patriots Visit Bears
Maye has thrown 10 touchdowns and one interception during New England’s three-game winning streak, while Williams leads the NFL in completion percentage.
- On Thursday, October 22, 2026, the New England Patriots visit the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in a prime-time matchup featuring young quarterbacks Drake Maye and Caleb Williams from the 2024 NFL Draft class.
- Maye and Williams first faced off on November 10, 2024, when the Patriots secured a 19-3 victory at Soldier Field; both have since evolved into franchise leaders, overcoming rocky rookie seasons to guide their teams to competitive 2026 records.
- During New England's three-game winning streak, Maye has thrown 10 touchdowns and one interception, while Williams recently returned from a hamstring injury, completing 30 of 36 passes for 305 yards in a 31-23 victory over the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday.
- Patriots coach Mike Vrabel emphasized the defensive challenge ahead, saying, "His sack numbers are going down. He's taking care of the football, so it's a huge challenge." Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen praised Maye's mobility as "outstanding."
- Both teams enter at 4-2 records with playoff positioning at stake as the season reaches midpoint. The matchup tests whether either quarterback can establish dominance within their 2024 draft class rivalry.
