He was a favourite because of his proximity to the President of the Republic.
The 58-year-old senior official has been prefect on several occasions and has held since 1 January 2024 the key position of chief of staff of the President of the Republic. Patrice Faure was officially appointed this Wednesday, 22 October, new prefect of police in Paris.
The senior official, director of Emmanuel Macron's cabinet at the Elysée since January 2024, succeeded Laurent Nuñez, who was appointed Minister of the Interior on 12 October.
