The European Parliament's Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) voted on Tuesday 24 June in favour of legal action at the Court of Justice of the European Union on the European Commission's EUR 150 billion defence loan programme, invoking controversy over MEPs' lack of control of the plan. By secret vote, 20 out of 23 MEPs supported the launch of a legal appeal to the EU Court of Justice against the EU Council. The other three MEPs abstained.
