The Albanian national is accused of violence committed on the sidelines of a neo-Nazi parade in Budapest in 2023. Released in April after Paris refused his extradition to Hungary, he is the subject of a new European arrest warrant issued by Berlin.
On Wednesday 19 August, the Paris Court of Appeal ordered the hand over to Germany of the Albanian anti-fascist activist known as "Gino".
Rexhino Abazaj is being prosecuted for violence against neo-Nazis in 2023 in Budapest. France refused to extradite him to Hungary because of risks to his fundamental rights. His lawyer announced an appeal in cassation.
The 30-year-old is accused by Hungary of violence against neo-Nazis who were marching in Budapest in February 2023. He faces up to 24 years in prison in this country and up to 10 years in Germany.
