Dubai, which welcomed 19.59 million international tourists last year and was once one of the world's most visited cities, is facing a sharp downturn due to the conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran. Tourist flows have fallen sharply in the past month, leaving restaurants and hotels half-empty.
The US-Israeli war against Iran has dealt a severe blow to Dubai's tourism industry, with restaurant revenues falling by up to 80 percent and hotel occupancy rates plummeting to a fraction of their usual levels. The livelihoods of tens of thousands of guest workers in the hospitality sector are also at risk, the BBC reported.
