Pacific Gas & Electric Company has been fined $22 million as part of a settlement over the Mosquito Fire, which destroyed 78 structures and burned nearly 77,000 acres in Placer County in 2022.

The Safety and Enforcement Division proposed the settlement, formally referred to as an Administrative Consent Order, under enforcement tools established in November 2020 when the commission adopted its Enforcement Policy.
