Pennsylvania Man Charged in Murder-for-Hire Plot to Kill Ex-Girlfriend, 2 Other Men She Dated, Officials Say

- On Wednesday, Feb. 11, Eric Berkowitz, 41, of Dresher was arrested in Upper Dublin Township and is held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
- Officials say the motive was retaliatory after the breakup, targeting his ex-girlfriend and two men she dated after their seven-year relationship, with Berkowitz saying he would 'take care of the girl himself.'
- Via Facebook Messenger, Berkowitz reached out to Steven Luker on Feb. 10 and allegedly gave him a Mac 11 firearm, a 'burner' cellphone, and target addresses, planning arson and shooting.
- The informant immediately went to police and then worked with detectives, who recorded the conversation confirming the plan, saving three lives, according to prosecutors.
- He faces multiple formal counts laid out in court documents, including three counts criminal solicitation for murder, attempted murder, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering, additional weapons and controlled-substance charges, and a preliminary hearing on Feb. 20.
