Dozens of shops of convenience Oxxo closed their doors this Sunday afternoon to prevent their facilities from being vandalized after the riots recorded in several states of the country. The measure was not only taken by the establishments that are in central or high-flow areas, but also on the outskirts of the capital city, such as the area of Barranca Honda, as La Jornada de Oriente observed through a tour.
Approximately 654 Oxxo stores in Tijuana ceased operations on Sunday morning, February 22, 2026, after individuals set fire to two convenience stores belonging to this chain in the Altamira and Oaxaca neighborhoods.
