The recall covers nearly 300,000 Dodge Darts due to a shift cable failure that may cause unintended vehicle movement, with no reported accidents so far, NHTSA said.
- Stellantis is recalling 298,439 Dodge Dart vehicles from 2013-2016 after a Oct. 9 notice from NHTSA, due to a shifter cable risk.
- Earlier actions to fix the shifter cable involved a transmission-side shifter cable bushing replacement, but owners kept reporting disconnected cables, prompting Stellantis to investigate in June 2025 and NHTSA to note increased reports in November 2024.
- The affected vehicles were built between February 2012 and October 2016, with shifter cables that can detach from the transmission-side component, Stellantis said in recall A0C.
- Stellantis plans to notify dealers on Oct. 16 and owners between Nov. 6 and Nov. 13 while it develops a permanent remedy; as of Sept. 24, the company reported no related injuries.
- Earlier this year, Stellantis, parent of Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, announced a $13 billion U.S. investment and recalled over 63,000 Jeep Cherokees.
