Ottawa Rapid FC Blank Halifax Tides FC 2-0 in Northern Super League
Rookie Sadie Waite scored in her first NSL start as Ottawa improved to 3-1-0 with its third straight home win.
On Wednesday, Ottawa Rapid FC defeated the visiting Halifax Tides FC 2-0 in Northern Super League action, with Rookie Waite scoring in the 35th minute and Defender Hyojoo adding a goal in the 77th minute.
Ottawa improved to 3-1-0 with its third straight home win, marking a notable milestone, while Halifax dropped to 1-1-1 in NSL standings.
Melissa Dagenais earned her second clean sheet of the season, repelling four Halifax shots including two diving saves, while Hyojoo assisted Waite's goal.
"We talked about it before the game, that this is the first time we can have three straight wins in a row," Ottawa coach Katrine Pederson said, noting the club's historic achievement.
The Montreal Roses visit Ottawa on Saturday, while Halifax returns home to host the reigning NSL champion Vancouver Rise on Monday.
