[Miyakojima] The Awamori Festival, featuring tastings and on-the-spot sales of sake from six breweries in Miyakojima City, was held on February 14th and 15th at Shima no Eki Miyako in Hirara Kugai, Miyakojima. In the Otori speech contest, Tono Nao (45) from Hirara Kugai won for the first time. Otori is a traditional Miyako drink where participants pass around the sake and give a speech when it is their turn.
