Mestemaker and Hawkins Lead Oklahoma State's Dominant Effort over Kansas State
Drew Mestemaker became the first FBS player since 2021 with four passing touchdowns, one rushing score and one receiving score.
On Saturday, Oklahoma State trounced Kansas State 66-28, with quarterback Drew Mestemaker becoming the first Bowl Subdivision player since 2021 to record four touchdown passes, one rushing touchdown, and one receiving touchdown in a single game.
This victory secured bowl eligibility for the Cowboys for the first time since 2023, ending recent struggles with slow starts that plagued earlier conference play, including a difficult outing against Houston last month.
Running back Caleb Hawkins dominated with 175 rushing yards and three touchdowns, adding a receiving score as the Cowboys outgained the Wildcats 565-327 in total yardage.
Mestemaker finished 22-of-28 passing for 313 yards while cornerback LaDainian Fields recorded two interceptions off Kansas State quarterbacks Blake Barnett and Dillon Davis.
Kansas State dropped its third consecutive game, falling to 4-5, while the Cowboys prepare to host Texas Tech next Saturday at Boone Pickels Stadium.
