Oscars: Ukraine has selected 'Traces' a documentary about women who survived sexual assault during war with Russia, as its candidate.
The Ukrainian Oscar Committee selected the documentary film “Traces” directed by Alisa Kovalenko and co-director Marisa Nikitiuk as a contender from Ukraine for the 99th Academy Award. The film will compete for the category “Best International Feature Film”.
Ukraine nominated the documentary film Traces of Alice Kovalenko and Marisa Nikitiuk for the Academy Award in the category Best International Film. The film tells the stories of Ukrainian women who experienced sexual violence and torture during the Russian aggression, and has already received awards at international film festivals.
