Tigers-Orioles Game on Saturday Has Been Rained Out
The makeup games will require separate tickets, and 15,000 fans will get a Samuel Basallo bobblehead for the second game, the team said.
Rain forced the postponement of Saturday's game between the Detroit Tigers and the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, with the teams now scheduled to play a split doubleheader on Sunday, May 24.
Framber Valdez will start Game 1 for the Tigers, opposed by Orioles right-hander Brandon Young, with Trevor Rogers set for Game 2 and Troy Melton expected to return for Detroit in the nightcap.
Tickets from Saturday's postponed game are automatically valid for the second game on Sunday, and 15,000 fans in attendance will receive a Samuel Basallo bobblehead giveaway.
With a 20-32 record, the Tigers have lost 15 of their last 17 games and sit 10.5 games back of the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Central Division.
Following the series in Baltimore, the Tigers travel to face the Rays on Monday before a four-game set against the Toronto Blue Jays starting Thursday, while the Orioles have no scheduled off days for the remainder of the month.
