Mexico City, Sep 2 (EFE).- The World Cup ended, but some of the measures of surveillance, control of public space and police action implemented during the tournament could remain as part of their heritage in Mexico, as warned on Wednesday by representatives of organizations during the presentation of the report ‘Scream goal and shout justice! Human rights violations in Mexico within the framework of the FIFA 2026 World Cup’.
The report highlights cases of harassment against groups of families of disappeared persons, who suffered episodes of repression, such as the encapsulation by the police of Mexico City in the Tlalpan Road.
