West Sussex County Council responds to national ban on sale and supply of single-use vapes
Businesses across the country were banned from selling or supplying single-use vapes, also known as disposable vapes, from 1 June 2025. The ban will impact our communities in several ways, including on trading standards, the environment and fire safety.

The ban of single-use vapes started on 1 June 2025. It is now illegal for businesses to sell or supply single-use vapes, also known as disposable vapes. Single-use vapes have non-rechargeable batteries and cannot be refilled. This ban is a crucial step forward in protecting public health and the environment.
