The current Syrian Ministry of Interior announced that Numeir al-Assad, the cousin of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, was detained in an operation in the Khirdaha district of Latakia.
Syrian security forces arrested Bashar al-Assad's cousin, Numayer al-Assad, and his gang in the Latakia countryside. Assad, a prominent drug trafficker under the former regime, is said to have exploited his kinship to establish terrorist organizations.
