INDIO, Calif. (KUNA) – Opening statements are set for tomorrow in the trial of a pool worker accused of fatally beating a 93-year-old Palm Desert woman during a robbery. Benjamin Cabrera Briones, 62, of Thousand Palms, is charged with first-degree murder, robbery, forgery, and special circumstance charges of homicide during a robbery and murder for financial gain in connection with the 2021 death of Jean Grace Willrich.
