ONTARIO, CANADA, JUL 29 – The fund targets health care, manufacturing, construction, and automotive sectors to support workforce skills amid infrastructure growth and economic challenges, officials said.
- The Ontario government has launched Round 6 of its Skills Development Fund Training Stream, allocating $260 million to upskill workers in various sectors.
- Since its launch in 2021, the SDF has supported over 1,000 projects in Ontario, aiming to connect more than 700,000 individuals to training opportunities.
- Proposals for the funding can be submitted through Transfer Payment Ontario until October 1, 2025.
- This investment is part of the Ontario government’s $2.5 billion commitment to protect workers.
