Ongwe Minerals Commences Maiden Drill Campaign at Its Newly Discovered Nguni Prospect, Namibia

Ongwe Minerals (OGW) announced the commencement of maiden drilling at Nguni, a 6km Au-in-soil anomaly within its Omatjete Au project in Namibia. It is located 17km east of the existing Manga discovery. OGW discovered Nguni in May 2026 during regional soil sampling along the Okondeka Fault Zone (OFZ), the same structure that hosts Manga and WIA Gold's (ASX:WIA, Not Rated) Kokoseb deposit 55km to the west. Infill sampling has defined a continuous 6km strike above 50ppb Au, open to the north, east and west. The initial diamond plan comprises 18 holes for 3,500m into the highest-grade soils in the northwest and southeast, with a second rig assigned 13 RC holes for 1,500m of first-pass scout drilling. OGW has also finalized a step-out diamond program at the Manga East extension. In our view, the maiden program is the first real test of what sits in bedrock beneath Nguni, which has never been drilled. We continue to see the drill results from Nguni as a key re-rating catalyst for the stock.
