One of Samsung’s Most Popular Phones Is Now Getting Stable One UI 9 with Android 17
Samsung says the update adds Android 17 features and interface tweaks as it expands from Korea to Europe and other regions.
- Samsung expanded the global availability of its stable One UI 9 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, following an initial release in the Korean market last week.
- The Fold 5 and Flip 5 are the last Samsung foldables eligible for the Android 17-based One UI 9 update, with firmware versions F946BXXU7HZIJ and F731BXXU7HZIJ now available for each device respectively.
- To check for updates, users should open Settings and tap Software update on their devices. Samsung advises waiting a few days if the update is not yet visible as the global deployment continues.
- This release is part of a broader expansion as Samsung continues deploying Android 17 updates to dozens of Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy S24 series and various mid-range devices.
- Samsung is also rolling out the update to the Galaxy A36 5G in Europe with the 2.4GB build A366BXXUCDZIF, which includes the September 2026 security patch and could reach additional regions in the coming weeks.
