On Fourth-and-Goal, Roach Drops Mahomes and Flips the AFC West Race as Broncos Beat Chiefs 28-24
Bo Nix threw two fourth-quarter touchdowns and Denver’s defense stopped Kansas City four times inside the 10-yard line.
On Sunday, the Denver Broncos defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 28-24 at Empower Field at Mile High, overcoming a fourth-quarter deficit to secure a divisional victory.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes led Kansas City to a commanding 24-13 third-quarter lead with three touchdown passes, but Broncos signal-caller Bo Nix rallied his team with consecutive fourth-quarter touchdown drives.
Following a missed 54-yard field goal by Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, Nix connected with rookie Jonah Coleman for a 51-yard gain to set up the winning score; Alex Singleton sacked Mahomes to seal the win.
This comeback vaulted the Broncos into first place in the AFC West with a 6-2 record, while the Chiefs dropped to 5-2 after their second consecutive loss.
Next Sunday, the Broncos travel to face the Carolina Panthers, while the Chiefs host the New York Jets to continue their 2026 regular season campaigns.
