The French pole vaulter, who was aiming for a medal, failed to qualify this Saturday, August 3. “An injury that will remain etched in him forever”, as he explained after the competition.
Fifth in the last Worlds, Thibaut Collet failed to qualify for the pole vault final. Robin Emig and Anthony Ammirati, the other French players competing in qualifications, also failed.
Son of the former French record holder Philippe Collet and designated as the successor to the world record holder, Renaud Lavillenie, the 25-year-old athlete is hoping for a medal at the Olympic Games. To do so, he will already have to pass the qualifications on 3 August.
