Elana Meyers Taylor to Miss 2026-27 Bobsled Season Due to Post-Concussive Symptoms

Olympic monobob gold medalist Elana Meyers Taylor revealed Wednesday that post-concussion symptoms will force her to miss the upcoming World Cup season, following a recurrence shortly after her February gold medal win at the Milan Cortina Games.
A violent crash in January while training in St. Moritz, Switzerland, with teammate Jadin O'Brien preceded these symptoms, marking a return of issues the veteran athlete previously addressed during the 2015-16 season.
In a recent Instagram post, Meyers Taylor described rehab as "very very demanding," admitting that while she hopes to return to a sled this winter, "I just don't know when that will be."
USA Bobsled Skeleton CEO Aron McGuire pledged full support for her recovery, while the team faces a depleted roster this season as fellow pilot Kaillie Humphries Armbruster is also taking time off for personal reasons.
Meyers Taylor confirmed to The Associated Press she is not planning to retire, noting that any competition this season would likely be limited to training or equipment-testing capacities.
