The Socialist Party was torn apart this Monday in the Assembly during the vote on the motion of censure tabled by the Greens and LFIs who wanted to punish the government and its "inaction" in the face of climate change.
French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has survived a motion of no confidence filed regarding the handling of the recent heatwaves in France. During the heatwave, there were significantly more deaths than usual.
The National Assembly overwhelmingly rejected on Monday a motion of censure put forward by the Greens, supported by La France Insoumise. Its authors denounced the government's mismanagement of the recent heatwaves that have affected France.
The National Assembly rejected the motion of environmental censure against the Lecornu government, on the basis of divisions on the left. Only 132 deputies voted in favour, far from the necessary 289 votes.
Favourable to censorship, the boss of the PS was put in a minority in his own party. The Prime Minister can blow since the motion was widely rejected.
